The Feeling of What Happens: Body and Emotion in the Making of Consciosness. Harcourt Brace. New York.
Part III of this book, ‘A Biology for Knowing’, deserves to be read a number of times for those seriously interested in WMB/TCM research and understanding. It remains to be properly explicated in terms of cross-paradigm research, but this is surely only a matter of time. Watch this website.

Antonio R. Damasio (2010) Self Comes to Mind: Constructing the Conscious Brain. Pantheon. New York.
In this fourth book Damasio addresses the question of how consciousness comes about. Here he develops the thinking of his previous books, but still deals with relationships of the body, brain and mind. Importantly for TCM/ WMB cross-paradigm research, he emphasises the significance of the brainstem, and ongoing homeostasis, in establishing self and mind.
